"A cleaner and a hawker helped the prisoners to escape by giving them a hacksaw blade that was used to saw through the burglar bars," Lt-Col Mzukisi Fatyela said.
"The cleaner and hawker were arrested and are currently in court."
The four prisoners escaped from the Ngcobo police station's holding cells on Friday.
Three of them, Sinethemba Velelo, 19, Kanyile Zangqa, 30, and Andile Nkungwana, 23, were rearrested on Monday. They are expected to appear in court on Wednesday.
Police were still looking for the fourth escapee, Mncedisi Mantiy, 29.
