Hilux

As previously indicated, Toyota has now rolled out the Tacoma styled front facia on the entry-level diesel single cab and all SRX as well as Raider models, with the SRX’s equipment gains consisting of colour coded bumpers with black side steps and mirrors, a four-speaker sound system and the seven-inch touchscreen infotainment with Bluetooth, USB and a reverse camera.

On the top-spec Raider, Toyota has added chrome detailing around the grille, fog lights and on the mirrors, with the aforementioned infotainment system gaining two additional speakers as well as satellite navigation and DVD playback function. Rounding the changes off is the same black leather interior, gloss black inserts and black headliner as the Dakar.

Aside from the exterior and interior changes, which also includes the availability of Dakar’s Inferno Metallic paint finish on all models, Toyota has upped the Hilux model count by 10 to 36 with the addition of an automatic gearbox on the single cab 2.4 GD-6 Raised Body SRX and a new SR outfitted with the same engine, but equipped with the six-speed manual ‘box and with two-wheel drive. Gone however is the petrol 2.7-litre SRX.

New to the xtra cab range an auto version of the 2.4 GD-6 SRX Raised Body, while on the double cab front, the workhorse focused S make its introduction along with a two-wheel drive SR and auto equipped SRX, all powered once again by the 2.4-litre oil burner. Like on the single cab, the previous 2.7 SRX has been dropped.

Making a return to the Hilux range is the single chassis cab, which can be specified on the very entry-level, air-conditioning, equipped 2.0-litre petrol, the five-speed manual 2.4 GD and the 2.4 GD-6 SRX 4x4.

Standard on all models is a three year/100 000km warranty and nine year/90 000km service plan.

Fortuner

Less extensive than the Hilux, the Fortuner mainly receives updates to the infotainment system, with the 2.7-litre petrol and 2.4 GD-6’s units gaining touchscreen functionality and a reverse camera, while the system on the 2.8 GD-6 and 4.0 V6 now features satellite navigation and DVD playback. No changes to pricing has however been made.

A five year/100 000km warranty and five year/90 000km service plan are included on all models.
