Coming just over two weeks after Toyota announced a wide-scale recall of over 700 000 vehicles over the defective inflators, Subaru models affected include the Impreza and WRX made between 2004-2011, Forester (2009-2012), Legacy / Outback (2005-2014) and the Tribeca (2005-2011).
"Subaru SA is urging customers to start the process of getting their vehicles seen to, even though there have been no reports or incidents in South Africa," Subaru South Africa Technical Manager, Deon Van Heerden, said in a statement.
Owners suspecting their vehicles to be affected can visit the Subaru South Africa at www.subaru.co.za/recall, and insert the VIN number into the VIN checker, or email info@subaru.co.za.
