Confirmed to enter production next month, the sixth-generation Polo, as previously reported, will use the same MQB A0 platform as the Seat Ibiza, with the images showing it featuring styling cues derived from the Golf and Passat, while the gain in wheelbase and length is noticeable.
Although no interior shots have yet been seen, expect the Polo's to mirror that of the Golf to a degree, with significant in-car tech and added safety features likely to be prominent.
Engines will consist of a 1.0 TSI in various states of tune, the same 1.5 TSI Evo used in the Golf, a pair of 1.6 TDI's, and the Golf 6 GTI's 2.0 TSI unit in the case of the Polo GTI. Transmission will include a five-and-six speed manual as standard, and a seven-speed DSG as option on some models.
