An exclusive audience will have the opportunity of viewing the car in Barcelona, Spain,at two events between the 3rd and 4th of September. The unveiling will take place along with a similar event in Japan. On the 6th of September, guests from Europe will also be able to glimpse at the coming generation’s iconic sports roadster.
The MX-5 has been in production since 1989, holding sales of almost 945 000 cars while also having a Guinness World Record for being the bestselling two-seater sports car of all time.
Earlier this year, the 2015 MX-5’s chassis and engine débuted at the 2014 New York International Auto Show displaying its lightweight construction that helped shed 100kgs from its weight.
Jeff Guyton, President and CEO, Mazda Motor Europe, said the car’s been grabbing attention for 25 years and is now aiming to get another generation of drivers as passionate about the car as the previous ones.
