Only available on the two-wheel drive X-Rider variant, the Black essentially benefits from a series of exterior and interior and upgrades, with the former consisting of an exclusive Black Meet Kettle paint finish, projector type headlights with integrated daytime running LEDs, black 18-inch alloy wheels with red centre caps, blacked-out B-pillar, X-Rider badges on the front doors and tailgate, black side steps and sports bar and a dark blue tonneau cover.
Less dramatic, the interior receives black leather seats with red stitching and X-Rider embroidered headrests, piano key black finish around the air vents and sound system, leather-wrapped steering wheel with red stitching and red centre ISUZU badge, X motifs on the doors and a leather gear lever boot also with red stitching.
Like the standard X-Rider though, the Black’s standard specification list and engine remains unchanged with the stalwart 2.5-litre D-TEQ turbodiesel motor continuing to produce 100kW/320Nm, mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.
Included in the Black’s R426 300 sticker price, a jump of R18 500 over the standard X-Rider but still R27 800 less than the X-Rider 4x4, is a five year/120 000km warranty and a five year/90 000km service plan.
