Said to have been the result of a spike in demand, the four-wheel drive X-Rider will also be exported to a number of left-and-right-hand-drive countries on the African continent, and supplement the existing rear-wheel drive model available until now.
Priced at R441 200, a jump of R45 000 over the two-wheel drive, the 4WD X-Rider remains fundamentally unchanged with the sole difference being the option of a rear diff-lock.
Up front, the 2.5-litre D-TEQ turbodiesel engine again produces 100 kW and 320 Nm of torque, linked to a five-speed manual gearbox. Fuel consumption is rated at 7.9 L/100 km, 0.2 L/100 km up on the rear-wheel drive, and emissions at 208 g/km (up five g/km).
A five year / 120 000 km warranty and five year / 90 000 km service plan are included in the sticker price.
