As per the image published by indianautosblog.com, the somewhat blurry depiction resembles the prototype spied in May with same distinctive V-shaped grille and headlights as the Navara, and shoulder line from the rear door backwards resembling that of the current Pathfinder.
While it is claimed that the image previews the next generation Paladin, a Chinese market only model sold since 2003 with the same running gear as the D22 Nissan Navara, the new rival to the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Everest and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport could potentially revive the Xterra or Terrano names for export markets, and offer seating for seven with a choice of rear-or-four-wheel drive.
Although the Paladin is expected to offer the same 2.5-litre petrol engine powering the Pathfinder, the global model will more than likely utilise the Navara's 2.3-litre dCi engine in single and twin-turbo configurations, with a choice of either a six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic gearbox.
