Most recently, the Hyundai i20 went under the knife to receive a bit of a makeover. While this Hyundai is still well equipped, the 1.2 Motion takes its place as the entry-level i20 in the line-up. Not much has changed, although the impressive value for money draw card Hyundai has always had, has become even more enticing.
Utilizing a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder motor, along with a five-speed manual gearbox, it’s difficult to tell the 1.2 Motion apart from its siblings. But some of the exterior changes might give it away, such as the 14-inch steel rims or the black door handles.
This i20 drives and feels exactly like the rest of the models and, once you’re inside, you realise you’re still getting a lot of bang for your buck as the extensive features list is nifty. The radio/CD/MP3 player along with remote audio control buttons on the steering wheel as well as an air-conditioner, are all welcome creature comforts.
Add to this an attractive price tag of R144 900 and the Hyundai i20 1.2 Motion seems like a solid purchase. You can see, though, the model is getting on a bit when compared to its flamboyantly styled stablemates.
