CVT stands for Continuously Variable Transmission for those of you who don’t know.
This new seven seater derivative is based on the Mobilio Comfort model which features all the same comprehensive interior goodies as its manual sibling. The CVT gearbox adds the benefits of convenience and efficiency that Honda’s CVT are renowned for. This means that the Mobilio CVT is great for those family vacations to the coast.
What’s more is that the CVT can be operated like a fully automatic gearbox, which will allow the transmission to always find the optimum combination of power, response and economy. Alternatively, drivers can opt for a sequential manual mode.
The Honda Mobilio is powered by the same 1,5-litre petrol engine as the manual-gearbox derivative. This little four-cylinder, 16-valve power unit is fitted with Honda’s i-VTEC intelligent variable valve timing system, and has a maximum power output of 88kW at 6 600 r/min and a torque peak of 145Nm at 4 600 r/min.
Honda claim a combined fuel usage cycle of just 6.0l/100km making the CVT version the most economical member of the Mobilio line-up.
The Honda Mobilio is all about offering customers ample space, comfort and practicality at an affordable price tag. Now, with the addition of a CVT gearbox (R219 990) drivers can enjoy the journey that little bit more.
