Positioned above the seven-seat SRX as the new flagship model, the SW4 Diamond gets model specific 18-inch alloy wheels, dark chrome grille, revised front bumper with satin silver under guard and grey projector. Inside, the interior receives a beige material finish, gloss black detailing on the centre console, Diamond badges, a 10-speaker JBL sound system and a white and gold finished key.
No changes have taken place underneath the bonnet where the 2.8-litre GD-6 turbodiesel engine continues to produce 130kW/450Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox with drive either going to the rear or all four wheels.
As well as the Diamond, Toyota has also upped prices of the SW4 range, with a noteworthy causality being the flex-fuel capable seven-seat 2.7-litre petrol SR model fitted with the auto ‘box, due to poor sales.
Being a unique to the Brazilian market, the Diamond version of the Fortuner is not expected to be added to the local line-up anytime soon.
