GARDEN ROUTE | KAROO NEWS - The South African Weather Service (Saws) has released its latest weather forecast for Tuesday, 18 March.

Fire danger warnings have been issued for the following areas:

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over Nama Khoi and Kamiesberg local municipalities of the Northern Cape as well as Swartland, Bergrivier and Stellenbosch local municipalities of the Western Cape. 

Weather forecast for Tuesday:

Western Cape

Cloudy along the south coast and eastern parts in the morning, otherwise fine and warm to hot, but very hot over the West Coast District. 

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southeasterly to easterly, but strong south of Cape Point and along the south coast. 

The expected UVB sunburn index: Very High 

Western half of the Eastern Cape

Morning fog patches in places otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated thundershowers in the extreme north. 

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh easterly. 

Eastern half of the Eastern Cape

Morning fog in places, otherwise partly cloudy with light rain in places along the coast and adjacent interior. Isolated thundershowers are expected in the north by the afternoon. 

The wind along the coast will be light southerly, becoming moderate north-easterly.
