GEORGE NEWS - Join WESSA Eden for a fundraising visit to the Western Cape Butterfly Sanctuary on Saturday 22 February.
The sanctuary is a unique conservation effort between Ruiterbosch Fun Farm and Conservation of Butterflies in South Africa (CBISA) at the foot of the Robinson Pass.
Visitors will be able to experience a unique butterfly encounter at the only butterfly sanctuary in the Western Cape and only the second of its kind in South Africa.
South Africa boasts the largest diversity of butterflies in the world, and you can experience a selection of these essential insects close up.
The breeding success in the sanctuary vastly exceeds the success rate in the wild thus enabling re-population.
Expert-led one-hour tours will be done in a group of maximum 20 participants. Tours start hourly from 10:00.
The participation fee is R100 per person which is a donation to the sanctuary. Booking is essential at wessageorge@isat.co.za.
Payment (a non-refundable donation ) must be made after receiving confirmation of the booking.
Refreshments and lunch will be available at Die Afdak Restaurant and Pub at the sanctuary.
