UNIONDALE NEWS - Tomorrow, Wednesday 29 April, residents of George Ward 25 (Uniondale) will head to the polls for the upcoming by-election.
The Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) encourages all registered voters to exercise their constitutional right to participate in this important democratic process.
Voters in the ward will have the opportunity to choose their new representative from a field of five candidates:
Ruchiano Olyn representing the African National Congress (ANC), Jarques Denvar Esau for the Democratic Alliance (DA), Deon Godfrey Leminie for the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), Zane Jaquin Arends representing the Patriotic Alliance (PA), and Zarina McWhite from the Truth and Solidarity Movement.
Essential Information for Voting Day
Voting stations are scheduled to open at 07:00 and will close at 21:00. Please note that voters who are already in the queue at 21:00 will still be permitted to cast their ballot.
To participate, you must be a registered voter on the voters' roll for Ward 25 and present one of the following valid forms of identification: a green barcoded ID book, a smart ID card, or a Temporary Identity Certificate (TIC).
