GEORGE NEWS - A horror motor vehicle crash in CJ Langenhoven Street cut short two young lives on Wednesday night, 15 May, at about 23:00.
The cause and details surrounding the accident are yet to be confirmed. It is believed that the female driver in her 20s, lost control of her Nissan NP 200 bakkie before the vehicle left the road and collided with a tree near the entrance of Heatherlands High School.
A male passenger, also in his 20s, was declared dead on the scene, while the driver succumbed to her injuries in hospital.
In a previous report it was indicated that the young man was the driver of the vehicle. It has however since come under the attention of George Herald that this was not the case and the young man was in fact the passenger.
George police have since opened a culpable homicide docket.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
