GEORGE NEWS - The body of an off-duty police officer from George was found at his home in Clinic Street, Pacaltsdorp, yesterday afternoon, 17 November.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson, Sgt Chris Spies, an inquest docket has been opened after the body of the 47-year-old officer was found at approximately 15:45.
"Preliminary investigation indicates that the body of the deceased, an off-duty police official, stationed at George Saps, was found with a gunshot wound to the head inside a room of the house. He was declared dead by paramedics at the scene," said Spies.
Eden Cluster Commander, Maj-Gen Oswald Reddy, visited the scene and conveyed condolences to the family.
