GEORGE NEWS - Looking for a fun, meaningful way to spend Father’s Day?
Swap neckties and braais for bicycles and breakfast at a heart-warming charity ride that combines family bonding with a worthy cause.
The Garden Route SPCA (GRSPCA), in collaboration with the popular Bayleaf Café, is hosting a Father’s Day cycle on Saturday 14 June, a scenic and social ride aimed at raising funds for local animal welfare.
Starting at 08:00, the 12km route welcomes cyclists of all fitness levels, including families with kids. The journey features a special stop at the SPCA, where participants can take a breather, visit the kennels, and gain insight into the vital work the society does to protect and care for animals in the region.
The event wraps up with a hearty breakfast at Bayleaf Café, where good food and great company are guaranteed.
Tickets are available through Quicket and include the following options:
• R100 per person: Cycle entry, plus a coffee or juice and a complimentary muffin
• R85 per person: Post-cycle breakfast special
• R50 per child: Breakfast special for kids under 12
All proceeds from the event go directly to the SPCA, making every pedal stroke a contribution to helping animals in need.
“We encourage families, cyclists and animal lovers to come out and support this special initiative,” says Rashied Adams, PR and marketing manager at the SPCA.
“It’s a chance to make memories together while making a difference.”
Tickets are limited, so early booking is essential. Visit Quicket to reserve your spot. For more information, contact the GRSPCA on 044 878 1900.
