GEORGE NEWS - A group of 15 ladies from the Southern Cape, all students of Marlise's School of Spanish Dance, will give a single performance on 25 January (18:30) at the Market Community Theatre in Market Street, George.
These dancers hail from Wilderness, George, Reebok, Hartenbos and Mossel Bay.
The dance show, One Night in Spain, serves as a fundraiser for the dance school's planned trip to Spain this coming September. "We hope to experience Spanish culture, attend a workshop and watch some shows," says Marlise Steenekamp, dance coach and owner of the school.
One Night in Spain depicts a variety of Spanish dance styles, such as traditional, classical and Flamenco. The colourful Spanish dresses, upbeat music and castanets promise to entertain young and old. The dancers' ages range from twelve to 64 years.
"Each dancer who will be on stage, has trained hard for months, in class but also at home, to give concertgoers a fully Spanish experience that feels like they are in a Tavern in Spain," says Steenekamp.
Tickets cost R150 per person and are available on webtickets.
