GEORGE NEWS - George Mayor Browen Johnson has confirmed in a press release this morning that no formal applications have been submitted for any marches or protest actions in George today, 30 June.
Despite the absence of officially sanctioned marches, the police has increased its visibility across key areas of the municipality, with additional patrols deployed in Thembalethu as a precautionary measure.
As of 06:30, no disruptions have been reported. CCTV monitoring continues to show normal movement throughout the town, with no suspicious activity detected.
Residents are urged to remain calm, vigilant and law-abiding. The municipality also encourages members of the public not to participate in any unlawful marches or activities.
Anyone who notices suspicious behaviour or incidents is requested to report it immediately to the police on 044 803 4733.
The municipality will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates should circumstances change.
