GEORGE NEWS - Man stabbed to death in Blanco - A 19-year-old suspect was taken into custody after a man (22) was stabbed to death in Golden Valley, Blanco, on Tuesday evening, 3 September. The incident occurred on the corner of Crystal Avenue and Goedemoed Crescent at approximately 18:30. 

The victim was stabbed in his chest with a knife and died on the scene. The suspect was arrested after he allegedly handed himself over to the police shortly after the incident. The suspect was scheduled to appear in the George Magistrate's Court on a charge of murder on Wednesday. 

Details about his court appearance were not yet confirmed by the time of going to print.

Burglary in Heatherlands
The police are looking for various silver-plated homeware items that were stolen from a house in Heatherlands on 1 August.

A teapot, entrée dish, a soup tureen, a 14-piece cake set and teaspoons are amongst the items. Any person with information regarding the stolen items are asked to contact Det Sgt Andile Baxa on 044 803 4714 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.

Speedster arrested on airport road
A speedster (32) on a Suzuki motorbike was arrested on Monday afternoon, 2 September, after he was caught driving at 178km/h in a 100km/h zone on the R102 between George and the airport. 

A case of reckless and negligent driving was opened and he was taken into custody.
