GEORGE NEWS - A new executive team for the George CPF was appointed during the AGM held at the police's district office on Wednesday 4 March.
This follows the resignation of the previous CPF committee.
Former chairperson Rupert Pretorius, who stepped down, will continue serving the community through various platforms.
The new chairperson, Shawn Northey, acknowledged the responsibility his role carries and said he is honoured to be appointed, expressing full confidence in the strength of the elected team.
The CPF is constituted to improve communication between the police and the community, to promote transparency, and to foster joint problem-solving and co-operation with a view to improving service delivery by the police.
The new George CPF executive consists of Shawn Northey (George CPF chairperson), Willie Cilliers (vice chairperson), Herman Pienaar (project co-ordinator), Steven Miller (treasurer) and Stephanie Rossouw (secretary). Additional members will be elected by the committee in due time.
