GEORGE NEWS - George resident and self-proclaimed competition enthusiast Marié Brown recently drove off in a brand-new Suzuki Swift after winning the Knorr Win-a-Car competition at the Pick n Pay Precap Centre.
The national competition was hosted by Unilever South Africa and offered shoppers a chance to win one of three Suzuki Swifts.
Entering was simple: customers had to purchase two participating Knorr products and either swipe their Smart Shopper card or WhatsApp a photo of their till slip to the competition number.
“I didn’t even realise I had entered,” said a thrilled Brown.
“So when they called me, I thought it was a scam, as I hadn’t physically sign up for anything!”
Brown, who turns 40 in July, said the new vehicle is the perfect birthday gift to start a fresh chapter.
“And I’m a huge Suzuki fan, and I was already driving an older model! I absolutely love competitions and regularly enter them. I’ve won before, but only small things like vouchers, a camera or a weekend away,” she said.
Marié Brown receives her car from Gerfran da Silva, Carlos da Silva (Pick n Pay Precap co-owner), Fernando Gomes (Pick n Pay Precap co-owner), Aadiel Ismail (Unilever) and Yolandi Pieters.
Pick and Pay Precap co-owner Fernando Gomes said they are elated and very proud to announce that one of their shoppers had won the car.
“We are eager to see her new wheels in our parking lot. Wishing her and her family many happy and memorable kilometres ahead!”
Brown is ready to put some miles on her new car.
