GEORGE NEWS - A vehicle accident on the Garden Route Mall intersection on Knysna Road earlier this afternoon, Saturday 8 March, claimed the life of an 8-year-old girl.
A Ford Bantam bakkie and a Ford Ecosport collided in the intersection at about 12:50.
Southern Cape police spokesperson Sgt Chris Spies said according to preliminary information available, police were dispatched to the scene.
"On arrival the members found two vehicles, a Ford Bantam bakkie and Ford Ecosport, with six occupants.
"The girl sustained multiple injuries and was declared dead by paramedics on scene. Two adults and one child, occupants of the bakkie, were taken to hospital. The extent of their injuries is not known at this stage."
He said a culpable homicide docket was opened. "The cause of the accident is being investigated."
