GEORGE NEWS - The Christmas lights all down Oewer Street in Denneoord, switched on Saturday 6 December, continue to be a seasonal hit, bringing that unmistakable holiday spirit to George.

This week the street was alive with excitement as families came to enjoy the display. 

Laughing children ran from house to house under the twinkling lights, waiting to meet Santa Claus who was on hand to greet the little ones. 

Adding to the atmosphere, the Steelwings Motorcycle Club joined in the celebrations on Monday 15 December.

The lights will stay on until Friday 2 January, from 19:00 to 23:00. Special events include a costume day and visits from Santa. 

From 20 to 23 December, Santa will bring the Grinch along.
