GEORGE NEWS - The George Municipality is calling on coastal residents to participate in a survey aimed at assessing the impact of the recent storm on beaches, dunes and coastal properties.
According to the municipality, the information gathered will help officials better understand the extent of erosion, flooding and wave damage experienced along the coastline, while also assisting with future coastal management and long-term planning.
Residents are encouraged to report what they observed during or after the storm, including erosion, flooding, wave overtopping and damage to coastal infrastructure or nearby properties. The municipality is also requesting photographs and videos where possible.
To complete the survey, residents must open the online link, allow their location to be captured for mapping purposes, answer the questions and optionally upload photos before submitting their response.
The municipality stressed that the survey is intended for information gathering and assessment purposes only and does not constitute a request for municipal intervention.
Residents have until Monday 29 May to complete the survey.
