GEORGE NEWS - James Grace, one of South Africa's foremost classical guitarists, and David Bester, internationally acclaimed South African violinist, will perform at the Dotsure George Arts Theatre for the George Music Society on Friday 6 May at 19:30.
Tickets for the concert, which will feature music from Paganini to Piazzolla, will be available at the theatre and also from www.georgemusicsociety.co.za at R150 for the public, R100 for members and R40 for learners.
David Bester is senior lecturer in violin and viola at Nelson Mandela University. He studied at the University of Stellenbosch where he received his MMus (cum laude).
He went on to receive a second MMus (cum laude) from the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp.
He is the recipient of many awards and prizes.
James Grace has performed with all the orchestras and at all the major arts festivals in South Africa. He has received many awards, including the Sama award for Best Classical Album in 2019.
Due to Covid restrictions he unceremoniously accepted the gold statuette from the courier at his home.
He has since then become one of the most successful online musicians and is very much in demand as a pedagoque.
