GEORGE NEWS - On Wednesday 9 February during Armchair Travel, Schalk Engelbrecht will talk about his amazing experiences at the South African base in Antarctica.
He will show photos and slides of the time he spent there. The meeting will start at 10:30.
At the Friday Lecture on the 18th, Dr Dean Allen will deliver a fully illustrated lecture titled Frontier Land.
This lecture is based on his new book that explores one of South Africa's most captivating regions, the Eastern Cape, and its rich history and diverse peoples. Allen has established a reputation as a popular lecturer and speaker. Tea is at 10:00 and the lecture starts at 10:30.
The AGM on Wednesday 23 February will be followed by the Digi Camera Club's annual exhibition and award presentations. Tea is at 10:00 and the meeting starts at 10:30. Members are urged to attend this meeting and appreciate what the Digi Club has been busy on throughout the year.
On Monday 28 February, Natie de Swart will continue his take on international affairs with a discussion that starts at 14:00.
Meetings of U3A take place at the Moth Shell Hole in Rijk Tulbach street and attendees are asked to wear face masks at all times.
