GEORGE NEWS - The case against Damian du Plessis (40), in connection with a house fire in George South on Monday 3 August, has been postponed to Monday 2 November pending further investigation.
Du Plessis, who previously abandoned his bail application, appeared in court again on Tuesday 29 September. He faces charges of arson, defeating the ends of justice and violating a corpse. The charges remain unchanged at this stage. He remains in custody.
The identity of the deceased found in the burnt house, as well as the cause of death, has not yet been confirmed. The police investigation continues.
