The Vodashop George Cheese Festival is a fundraising initiative by the PTA of Outeniqua Primary School in George. The
organising committee comprises volunteer parents and friends of the school who commit many months of their time in order to present this highlight on the social calendar of the Southern Cape in a professional manner.
"Without the backup and support of the school principal, Mr Johan Smit, teachers and these dedicated parents this festival would not be possible," says Anna-lize Pretorius, festival director.
The school was able to donate an amount in excess of R160 000 during the last three years to different charities and community groups as identified by various sponsors. This year Vodashop identified LIFE Community Services, Phambili Refuge Centre and Famsa as their charities.
The committee invites George locals and visitors to the Southern Cape to experience George’s warm hospitality in the Garden Route.
