GEORGE NEWS - The Pacaltsdorp Community Business Association (PCBA) is holding a charity gala event on Saturday 17 August to raise funds in aid of the training of two Pacaltsdorp learners.
The association is a non-profit, community-based company that aims to educate and empower deserving learners and/or emerging entrepreneurs.
This is done by assisting them with whatever is required in pursuit of their dreams, whether it is the furtherance of their studies or starting their own business.
"Many of our most promising students seem to disappear into the mainstream of social decline because of inadequate resources," says Luwayda Trantraal, PCBA chairperson. "Our efforts in addressing these escalating tendencies cannot take effect unless we have the support of our communities and businesses at large."
Proceeds from the charity gala will go to the two most promising students coming of Pacaltsdorp Senior Secondary School and Olympia Skills School. The PCBA aims to raise enough money to contribute a generous amount towards the studies or business training for the two students through an accredited service provider.
Tickets for the gala event include dinner and entertainment and are available at R350 per person from Luwayda Trantraal on 076 269 5421 or pcb.association2019@gmail.com. The evening starts at 18:30 for 19:00 in the Pacaltsdorp Community Hall.
Cash donations are also welcome.
