GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - Motorists travelling between George, Oudtshoorn and Uniondale are advised that blasting operations will take place today, Wednesday 22 April, resulting in a temporary full road closure on the N9.
The road between Oudtshoorn and George will be closed from 14:00 to 17:00 to allow for controlled blasting as part of ongoing construction work on the section near Waboomskraal.
The closure will affect traffic along the Oudtshoorn–George and Uniondale–George routes, with no vehicles permitted through the affected section during the three hours.
The blasting forms part of a 5km road construction project involving rock removal and excavation works along the route.
Motorists are urged to plan their trips accordingly and follow all temporary signage in the area.
