Update

GEORGE NEWS - George police opened in inquest docket following the incident on the Voëlklip road earlier today, Thursday 1 September.  

According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Sgt Chris Spies, emergency services were dispatched to the scene at about 15:30 after a member of the public alerted authorities about a vehicle that went down a cliff.

"A search and rescue operation resulted in the retrieval of the body of a 50-year-old man from George," he said.

Investigation into this matter continues.

The body of a man has been recovered from the car that went over a cliff on the Voëlklip road earlier today.
