GEORGE NEWS - It's a sure sign of summer in Wilderness when grandly coloured paragliders fill the sky. 

Summer brings optimal conditions for this sport in the Garden Route and a tandem flight with a qualified tandem pilot, is a popular bucket list item for many visitors. 

Yesterday, Tuesday 27 December, saw an action packed day for tandem crews and solo pilots at the Views Hotel, one of the most scenic launch sites in the area.

To fly as a tandem passenger, no previous experienced is required - you just need to bring your sense of adventure, sunblock, a pair of sturdy closed shoes, a long-sleeved top and some refreshments for afterwards.

There are many tandem operators in the area, but bookings are essential to avoid disappointment.
