GEORGE NEWS - EFF protestors who are taking part in the national shutdown gathered at Fourways in Thembalethu early this morning and are making their way down Nelson Mandela Boulevard towards Lawaaikamp. 

A little over 50 EFF supporters are taking part in the march.

According to Chantèl Edwards, municipal spokesperson, motorists can expect intermittent traffic congestion on Nelson Mandela Boulevard. The marchers are escorted by public order police (Pops) and police vehicles.

Earlier when George Herald visited some of the areas in George it was quiet with taxis operating as usual and under the watchful eyes of police and other law enforcement agencies it seemed like business as usual as people were going to work.
