GEORGE NEWS - Thembalethu police opened a culpable homicide docket after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on the N2 highway near the turnoff to Thembalethu at about 15:30 this afternoon, Saturday 3 July.
"Preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was crossing the road when he was hit by a Mercedes Benz which was en route to Mossel Bay. The victim sustained multiple injuries. He was later declared dead by medical personnel on scene," said Sgt Chris Spies, Southern Cape police spokesperson.
Spies said the deceased is believed to be a coloured male in his early thirties. "He was dressed in a grey tracksuit at the time of the incident. His identity is yet to be determined. No one was arrested. Investigation continues."
