GEORGE NEWS - The family of Julian Klassen (69) of Pacaltsdorp issued a statement this afternoon requesting the public’s help in finding him or information regarding his disappearance.
Klassen, the chairman of the Pacaltsdorp Business Chamber, was last seen on Tuesday afternoon in Market Street in town.
According to his wife, Blanche, he was on his way to the memorial service of the fire victims of Farleigh near Karatara. He was last seen getting off the bus in town. He was supposedly meeting up with someone who was going to give him a lift to Farleigh.
“He left the house at 14:40 and was last seen by our son. He arrived in town after 15:00 according to CCTV footage. He hasn’t been seen since. This is unlike Julian, he never sleeps out unless he is attending a conference or a meeting and then I know about it,” said Blanche.
Klassen left his cellphone at home because the battery ran out earlier in the day.
She said her husband is in relative good health and that he is familiar with all the areas in George, Knysna and Oudtshoorn.
If anyone has any information regarding his whereabouts, please contact the nearest police station or the Pacaltsdorp police station on 044 803 9106/7 or 072 692 1880 or 073 124 1878.
