GEORGE NEWS - Many happy Garden Route Mall customers gathered at the Lover's Lane Night Market hosted by the mall on 20 February.
The mall collaborated with 23 selected and 30 local market stalls to create an exquisite night market for lovers and families to enjoy food and live music and to celebrate love in the spirit of St Valentine. The market took place from 17:00 till 21:00.
Marketing manager Tumi Masango said the market featured four live musicians (including jazz musicians and a DJ) in three of the mall's passages, setting a musical tone as a record number of customers spread throughout the mall and enjoyed the vibe.
Promoters of the market were involved by helping customers to enter the lucky draw competition.
Customers had to visit all the participating stores and get a sticker from each.
The competition was designed to create fun as customers walked around the mall to support the participating stores. "The competition also raised awareness among those who wanted to shop, but weren't aware of the stores still trading," said Masango.

What enticed customers the most was the surprise giveaways to 10 shoppers who supported the trading stores.
The 23 stores included Coricraft, Mugg & Bean, Sterns, Mat & May, Tsonga, Der Lederhändler and Pick n Pay.
Towards the end of the night market, a lucky draw saw 10 customers receive a R1 000 gift voucher from stores like Edgars, Poetry, Pick n Pay, Le Creuset, Volpes, American Swiss, Queenspark, TFG group and Old Khaki.
The Lover's Lane Night Market was well enjoyed and supported and Garden Route Mall hopes to launch more night markets and other special social events for its customers.
