All-male, all-female and mixed teams from the George, Eden, Knysna and Hessequa municipalities took part in mini soccer matches.
Team supporters were out in full force, but it was undoub-tedly the Knysna ‘Cockerels’ who won the day, as did their teams who ultimately won the tournament.
Singers, dancers and the George Municipality Choir, as well as a live broadcast by Eden FM radio kept supporters entertained during the afternoon.
Rosemoor Stadium is the official public viewing area (PVA) of the 2010 World Cup and work to dress up the stadium was still in progress at the time of the games. Workers had a bird’s eye view of the soccer matches and entertainment while they erected the national flags of all the participating soccer teams.
A huge soccer ball with the George Municipality logo was inflated on top of one of the floodlights in the stadium and can be seen from surrounding suburbs.

Mayor Mercia Draghoender and deputy mayor Castro Leholo declared the games open by releasing hundreds of colourful helium balloons.
