GEORGE NEWS - Following the extension of the State of Disaster and the concerning increase in the Covid-19 infection rate for George and surrounds
for the month of November, the George Municipality has deemed it prudent to take the decision to keep the Conville and Uniondale municipal swimming pools closed during the festive season.
The George Municipal Disaster Management Joint Operations Centre, as well as the Community Services Directorate, have explored all the relevant safety measures that can be implemented, and concluded that the municipal swimming pools will not be able to re-open safely.
The municipality apologises for the inconvenience and remains committed to the delivery of essential services in the face of ongoing Covid-19 challenges.
