GEORGE NEWS & VIDEO - About 100 residents of Syferfontein, Rosedale and New Dawn Park are marching from Pacaltsdorp to the George Municipality this morning.
They plan to hand over a memorandum to the municipal manager.
The march is in support of all backyard dwellers in George who have been on the waiting list for houses for 20 years or longer. They also demand better service delivery.
A small group of protesters from Conville are also making their way to the CBD along Nelson Mandela Boulevard to join the march.

All GO GEORGE routes remain operational but severe delays are expected, in especially York Street, due to the march.
The situation will be monitored and services suspended if needed.

The EFF did not manage to muster much support in Conville and only 8 community members joined the march.
