GEORGE NEWS & VIDEO - International saxophonist Andrew Young and Cape Town pianist and keyboard whiz Tony Drake will perform at the Market Community Theatre in George on Friday 1 March (19:00) for an evening of jazz, blues and swing, with a modern twist.
"It is the opening show of our newly, partly renovated, Market Community Theatre," said theatre director Heather Stead.
"The vibrant colours of the new theatre are at last shining through the former dirty and damp interior. Our concert will take you on a journey through timeless classics, reimagined like old friends reunited.
"Get ready to tap your feet and sway to the rhythm of Take 5, Misty, Harlem Nocturn and Summertime. Swing standards such as All of Me and Autumn Leaves. 60s hits such as Stranger In the Shore and Girl From Ipanema. Incomparable blues of Santana and Gary Moore."
It promises to be an evening of fabulous music including a tour of the theatre.
Tickets are available on Webtickets at R130 per person.
