Within the Covid-19 Lockdown period, they are maintaining visibility as far as possible and supporting our emergency units as required.

Residents don't need movement permits
Reports have surfaced of a so-called citizen form or movement permit which is to be filled in by residents and carried with you in order to go to the shops during the lockdown.
Please note that this matter was raised with the Safety and Security Cluster at the Garden Route District Municipality's joint operations centre and it has been confirmed by the police that this does not comply with the Covid-19 regulations.
It will be deemed invalid and it will be confiscated.
All you need to take with you, is your ID card and driver's licence if driving. Remember, only go out for absolute essential shopping.
Essential water and waste water services continue as usual
Emergency street repair and storm water problems caused by intense rainfall will be addressed by standby personnel. Please report water leaks and burst pipes, sewerage blockages, leaks and spillages and urgent road and storm water issues to:

Contact information for water and sewerage emergencies in Uniondale / Haarlem will be communicated to residents directly. Estimated response times are 24 to 48 hours from the recorded time of complaint at the above numbers. Civil engineering services administration offices are closed during the lockdown.
Electricity issues
Legally connected uninterrupted electricity is planned during the lockdown. Planned maintenance will be on hold and therefore no planned power outages have been scheduled for this period.

Estimated response times for low voltage electricity should be within 24 hours from the recorded time of complaint at the above numbers. High voltage electricity faults could take longer.
Estimated repair time for street lights are 5 to 10 working days from recorded time of complaint at the above numbers.
Electrotechnical services administration offices will be closed during the lockdown.
