Four Thembalethu homes burn down

GEORGE NEWS AND VIDEO - Four families from  Edameni, an informal settlement in Thembalethu, lost all their belonings when a fire razed their homes to the ground on Friday night, 25 November.

One of the homes  belonged to that of local ANC councillor Eric Mdaka.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage. Official feedback from  George Municipality will be added when it is received.

George Municipality assisted the affected parties with temporary accommodation in a community hall in the area.

Donations of clothing, food, bedding, toiletries, appliances etc will be appreciated to assist these families.  

Donations can be dropped off at 39 Meade Street. Any and all donations are welcome.
