GEORGE NEWS - The Fiddle Fingers, an enthusiastic and talented group of women from Groenkloof Retirement Village, on Monday 28 November handed over a number of sensopathic activity fiddle cushions for dementia and Alzheimer patients in the frail care units of Groenkloof, Blue Mountain and Bergville.
These cushions are used to soothe and calm the patients and appeal to their senses through different textures.
They also include activities such as zips, buttonholes, tying bows, Velcro and elastic to keep them busy and help improve their fine motor coordination skills.
Shann Kieswetter (third from right) of the Fiddle Fingers group says a few words during the handover of the cushions to Groenkloof frail care.
