GEORGE NEWS - Emergency services transported 14 patients to hospitals in George this morning after a petrol bomb was thrown at a Go George bus in Pacaltsdorp.
Information currently available suggest that at least four patients were transported by ER24 and the remaining patients were transported by Metro and other emergency services.
The patients are still being assessed at the hospitals, but it seems that they mostly obtained superficial facial and body burns. According to a report by Go George, five of the patients have been treated for burn wounds and nine for shock.
"The SA Police Service is investigating the incident," reads the report.
"The GIPTN regrets the incident and will assist the police with information and CCTV footage to bring the perpetrators to book," said Go George Manager Morné Lakay.
The bus service in the area and all other routes remain fully operational.
