GEORGE NEWS - Eden Surf Riders had plenty to celebrate over the weekend of 2 to 4 June when they defended their title successfully during the Vic Bay Quad.
A total of 82 surfers from East London to Cape Town competed in eight different categories in this popular event on the surfing calender, in memory of legendary surfer John Pfaff.
Eden's Sean Holmes finished first in the Open Men category, with 12,54 points, while Nina Harmse, also of Eden Surf Riders, took a second place in the Open Ladies category with 9,10 points.
The winner of the Open Ladies is Britney Linder of Nelson Mandela Bay (Eastern Cape) with 11,73 points and Tyrell Johnson from Buffalo City (East London) ended second in the Open Men category with 11,63 points.
The following surfers qualified for the Open Men finals: Sean Holmes (Eden), Tyrell Johnson (Buffalo City), Mitch du Preez (Nelson Mandela Bay) and Thomas Lindhorst (Buffalo City).
In the Open Ladies finals the following surfers competed: Britney Linder (Nelson Mandela Bay), Nina Harmse (Eden), Faye Zoetmulder (Nelson Mandela Bay) and Adriel Wolmarans (Buffalo City).

The team result was as follows: Eden Surf Riders (2022 defending champions) as winners; Nelson Mandela Bay Surf Riders in second place, Cape Winelands Surf Riders in the third place, Buffalo City Surf Riders in fourth place and Cape Town Surf Riders in the fifth place.
