GEORGE NEWS - The removal of black bags will not take place today, 3 September, due to an ongoing strike. Residents are asked to kindly take in their black bags where possible.
According to municipal spokesperson Chantel Edwards-Klose, services could be affected tomorrow, Friday 4 September, as well.
“Updates will be provided as soon as we have confirmation on when the service will resume for black bag collection. Alternative measures are being investigated as urgently as is possible,” said Edwards-Klose.
However, the collection of green and blue bags will continue as usual for today, 3 September. Blue and green bags are collected on the same days as the black bags. “Blue and green bags not collected this week for Tuesday and Wednesday must please be held back and put out next week,” said Edwards-Klose.
