GEORGE NEWS - George Airport has received confirmation of seven extra flights that will be landing per week for the December season.
"This is one extra flight per day, which is most welcome," said airport manager Brenda Vorster.
Vorster said the airport has not yet received confirmation from all the airlines regarding their flight schedules for the season.
"So far, we will be closing later on a Saturday to accommodate the confirmed extra flights. It may seem as if there has not been real growth, but most of the airlines are using bigger aircraft, so the number of passengers has increased. We are currently on 80% to 85% capacity and I think we will reach 100% capacity in December."
