GEORGE NEWS - The George police has registered an inquest docket for further investigation after the body of a 30-year-old man was recovered from Voëlkip at Herold's Bay earlier today, Sunday 1 March.
Lt Col Malcolm Pojie, police spokesperson, said a joint recovery operation was launched after neighbourhood watch members at about 05:00 this morning reported to police that they had spotted a VW Polo which had gone over the cliffs at Voëlklip.
"The deceased was last seen alive last night between 23:00 and midnight. The victim was declared as deceased by medical personnel on scene. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death. Investigation continues."
The EMS, SAPS Water Policing, Forensic Pathology rescue teams and local police took part in the joint operation.
