GEORGE NEWS - A total of 484 litres of liquor was confiscated during targeted crime-combatting operations in Oudtshoorn and George this past weekend as part of ongoing efforts to clamp down on unlicensed liquor outlets in the Garden Route District.
On Friday 11 April, Oudtshoorn police members acted on information received from the public and carried out a sting operation in Bongolethu.
Armed with a search warrant, they raided a premises and seized 72,2 litres of liquor.
A 42-year-old man was arrested and charged with selling liquor without a licence.
The following day, Saturday 12 April, members of the George Crime Prevention Unit raided a premises in Blanco, where they confiscated 411 litres of liquor.
Two suspects, aged 41 and 22, were arrested.
All three suspects remain in police custody and are expected to appear in their respective courts later today, Monday 14 April.
